Rejected/accepted

In the early hours of the morning of Friday 3rd May 2019, a squad of the Birmingham Police - led by Senior Sergeant MacMillan - arrived at a small retail complex in the Shirley suburb of Birmingham. They found a ruined illegal laboratory containing all manner of animals and beasts - both normal and mutated.  Scariest of these was the corpse of a dinosaur sized hound. Second scariest was a huge silverback gorilla - wearing a fetching red dress - willing to turn “State’s evidence”. And third on the list was a cluster of would-be Superheroes - breathless from their first victory but weeping over the loss of their android companion - torn in two by the huge mutant dog. The area was secured and statements taken. Then the five surviving Heroes made their way home to rest and recuperate before their evening appointment. Much recovered, later that night they made their way to the Stratford Road. Electro again prevailed upon her parents to allow Agony Aunt to chaperone her. She was wor

In two minds and in two pieces.

Thursday 9th May 2019. 9pm. Agony Aunt and Electro - Jamie Pryde's new Superhero name - sat in the group's hired van on the Stratford Road on Stake-out. At Jamie's behest, they'd left her parents at their new - slightly more salubrious - hotel and Agony Aunt had been allowed to babysit their daughter. The past few days had seen the group spend a bit of time training together in an abandoned warehouse the group had found in Digbeth. Apart from that, Agony Aunt had been concentrating on her media presence - YouTube money was beginning to trickle in - and helping people in small ways - rather than as a Hero. This was partially due to the wait on her new costume but mainly to research for a puff piece for her channel. Jamie's time had been spent mediating between her parents. Her mother had taken a job in a shop to help fund their current excursion but her father had so far been unable to find a job. Magnatron, Deacon and Steel Reign were waiting on shops o

Creating the right impression

Thursday 2nd May 2019. Professor Walter Watt was in fury. Having spent the whole day searching “ the institute” for “Jeeves” - his experimental barman - he scoured the Internet. He discovered that one of The Institute’s delivery trucks had been attacked near Birmingham by some so-called “Supervillains”. Though the attack was foiled by the Sq:B stalwart, Techknight, shakey phone cam footage clearly showed the Jeeves android active at the scene. Not merely active but also participating in events in ways beyond his limited programming. Its movements seemed almost.... human. Watt immediately booked a train ticket to Birmingham for the following morning. Following the fracas on Spaghetti Junction, and their meeting with Techknight, the three would-be Heroes, two parents and one lost android swapped contact details and headed into Birmingham City Centre. Agony Aunt’s Air B&B was lovely but not as secure as a private hotel room. Not ideal for a young lady travelling alone. Still, it

Coming to Birmingham

Professor Johan Hellstrom is a physicist. When his work brought access to alternate dimensions he was not prepared for the arcane nature of at least one of them. Somehow he has become dimensionally entangled with that nether realm. The energy it gives him allows him to fly and temporarily become invisible. He can also pull weapons from that nether space. But are there other things out there? He needs help to understand the portal he has created. TECHKNIGHT - a Superhero member of Squadron: Birmingham - is clearly either a brilliant scientist or knows one. Taking the persona of “The Librarian”, Prof. Helstrom has boarded a train to Birmingham to seek a consultation. Also on the train is a biologist who, wanting to help people, was working on a formula to regrow limbs. Testing it in herself gave her the ability to grow to 12' in height. Wanting to help people she put out a series of YouTube videos demonstrating how such abilities could be used to help others and encouraging other g
